Artists in Schools (AIS) program
Bringing exploration, curiosity, and joy for Chinese music to schools, students in our 10-12 week AIS programs learn to play one Chinese instrument, learn ensemble skills (listening, teamwork, rhythm, melody and harmonies), and perform at an end-of-semester recital!
Our teachers go to schools throughout the Bay Area, including OUSD, SFUSD, independent schools, and public charter schools, to bring our music program to school sites during the school day and in after school programs.
If your school or organization is interested in partnering with us, see the FAQs below and reach out to info@purplesilk.org.
