A Hong Kong native, Jaco Wong is a San Francisco-based conductor and composer who currently serves as the Associate Conductor at Opera Parallèle and Assistant Conductor at Oakland Symphony. Wong is an active educator serving as the Upper School Instrumental Music Director of the Harker School. Other recent engagements include conducting at Mercury Soul, a DJ/ classical music event, assisting conductor Teddy Abrams at Louisville Orchestra’s season finale, and participating in Prague Summer Nights Opera Music Festival and Cabrillo Festival of Contemporary Music. Wong holds advanced degrees in music from San Francisco Conservatory of Music and University of Southern California.
